Use Manual Items when the content belongs to the display itself rather than to Joomla Articles. This is especially useful for FAQs, tabbed information, short directories and structured information blocks.

Add Manual Items

Set:

1. Source → Content Source → Manual Items

Then open 2. Content and use the repeatable Manual Items field.

Each item supports:

Title

Required. The title is used as the Accordion/FAQ trigger, the Tabs label, or the item title in Directory.

Intro

Optional short content. The editor output is filtered using Joomla's safe HTML filtering.

Body

Optional main content. Use this when the item needs more detail than the Intro field.

Image URL or Path

Optional. You may enter a Joomla-relative path or a full image URL.

Examples:

images/products/example.jpg
https://example.com/images/example.jpg

Image Alt Text

Describe the purpose of an informative image. Leave this empty only when the image is decorative.

Optional internal or external destination for the item.

Read More Text

Optional custom link text. If it is empty, the renderer may use the default Read more label.

Reordering items

Use Joomla's repeatable-field move controls to reorder Manual Items.

ES Content Display assigns a persistent internal key to each Manual Item. Reordering an existing item therefore does not change its normalized identity or deep-link anchor.

Content field visibility

Use 4. Display to control:

  • Image
  • Intro
  • Body

Manual Items do not provide Joomla Article metadata such as Category, Tags or Author in v1.

Empty Manual Source

If no Manual Items are configured, the frontend returns a controlled empty state instead of producing an error.
